Crafting History, Shaping the Future
At New Forest Fire Arts, I create functional, handcrafted pieces that honor history while embracing modern craftsmanship. Inspired by my love of medieval and ancient history, my work blends the beauty of the past with the safety and sustainability of the present. While medieval artisans often used materials that were unknowingly harmful, I only choose non-toxic, durable materials for my functional pieces that preserve the aesthetic without the risks.
My goal is to craft pieces that connect people, not just to the objects themselves, but to the long human story behind them. History is both beautiful and tragic, and through my work, I hope to create a tangible link to those who came before us, whose hands shaped the world we live in today.
Beyond my art, I believe deeply in the values of empathy, education, and civil rights. As a straight, white-presenting, cisgender man, I recognize the privilege that comes with that identity, and I believe it is my responsibility to stand as an ally. I support a woman’s right to choose, LGBTQ+ rights, and the fundamental belief that a rising tide lifts all boats. We should not limit ourselves by the size of the table we have when we have the means to build a bigger table; When we do so, everyone benefits. While I understand that not everyone shares these beliefs, I encourage those who do to join me on this journey. If my work and values resonate with you, welcome. If not, I encourage you to support an artist whose vision aligns more closely with your own.
